The Theory of Social Revolutions

Brooks Adams, the great grandson of President John Adams and brother of the slightly more famous writer Henry Adams. While Brooks Adams could be said to have Progressivist leanings within the context of the early 20th century, his analysis of political institutions as reflecting the interests of social classes in power is important in the development of a Machiavellian understanding of power dynamics.
